Winfred Press: A haiku and tanka friendly press (our haiku bumper stickers - way cool!) of contemporary American short poetry.
A small press located in the hills of western Massachusetts.
Welcome to the Winfred Press web site! Browse around, enjoy the excerpts and author biographies, and drop us an e-mail
at winfred@crocker.com and let us know how you like it. Winfred Press is located in western Massachusetts. It began in
1993 as writer Larry Kimmel's desktop publishing business and self-published poetry chapbooks. Since then we have
expanded to include offerings by other local writers, still maintaining a strong emphasis on poetry. We are very pleased to
offer what we believe to be a unique literary item: real haiku poems on bumper stickers. As publisher and writers, our aim
is to get poetry out into the world, and putting short poems on bumper stickers struck us as one creative and effective way
to do just that. Currently Winfred Press is not reading submissions; we have a substantial backlog and would like to give
our full attention to the current and upcoming lists before venturing into new territory.

Winfred Press Proudly Presents:

a delicate dance of wings
haibun by

Linda Jeannette Ward

Winner of the Best Book of Haibun from The Haiku Society of America's Merit Book Awards for 2003!

Out of Print

This book of haibun by acclaimed haiku and tanka poet
Linda Jeannette Ward
is a wonderfully conceived collection of true life mini-dramas as perceived and expressed by
a practiced and sensitive poet-writer of the first order, bringing to life a variety of daily,
as well as extraordinary, life events experienced in and through nature both at its most
tranquil and its most ferocious moments. These brief dairy-like narratives, while remaining
close to the haibun tradition, are very much in the American grain. The book is further
enhanced by a generous selection of botanical prints by Pamela A. Babusci, as well as
pen & ink drawings by J. W. Stansell.

This is a joint publication of Winfred Press & Clinging Vine Press.
and may be ordered from either Winfred Press or

Clinging Vine Press
